American Adoptions has an adoption scholarship program for birth mothers and fathers! We want you to be able to fulfill your educational goals and dreams. That's why every birth mother who goes through the adoption process with American Adoptions will receive a scholarship application and be considered for a financial scholarship to assist with the costs of education. Should birth fathers be interested in the scholarship, they are also welcome to apply. American Adoptions offers these educational scholarships for the college or school of your choice to help cover the cost of your tuition or books.

Twice a year, the American Adoptions Scholarship Committee meets to review scholarship applications received from birth parents for the fall and spring semesters and chooses the winning scholarship applications. Unfortunately, we are not able to help every applicant with a scholarship. • The deadline for the spring semester applications is January 1st.
• The deadline for the fall semester applications is August 1st.

Please Note: Every birth mother or father should understand that choosing adoption for your baby does not guarantee a scholarship will be available. The number of scholarships, and the amount of each scholarship awarded each semester, vary depending on the number of applicants and tuition amounts. Recipients of the adoption scholarship for birth parents are eligible for up to eight semesters. In order to be considered for a scholarship, the adoption must be legally finalized. In order to renew an existing scholarship for all eight semesters you must:

• Maintain a 2.5 or higher grade point average (GPA)
• Complete a scholarship reapplication form and submit it prior to each semester's deadline, along with copies of:
  • Your grade card from the previous semester
  • Your class schedule and tuition invoice for the upcoming semester

Numerous birth parents have gone to college since the American Adoptions Scholarship program was founded in 2001. We welcome applications from all of our birth parents.
