Nick & Jake
Thank you for taking the time to review our profile! We are super excited about the possibility of adoption and look forward to sharing our lives with a child. Choosing us to be your child's parents would be life-changing to us. We look forward to sharing more details about us and answering any questions you may have!
Our Lifestyle
We live a very active life! We are always on the go and do the best we can to make the most of our time together. Whether we are simply staying home or spending a day out, we are very rarely just lounging around.
When staying home, we can be found: cleaning, cooking, doing DIY home projects, taking care of our pets, or gardening. Our home is our favorite place to be together, and we actively work hard to make sure it is just the way we like it! On the rare occasion that we are relaxing, we are generally playing games, completing puzzles, or planning our next adventure.
When we are away from our home, we can often be found meandering around local theme parks! It is a great way to get some exercise while keeping our interest. In addition to staycations, we love planning out adventures a bit farther from home. While we aren't huge travelers, we enjoy taking cruises and other vacations a couple of times per year. We feel it is important to see the world and understand other cultures, and traveling gives us the ability to do just that!
Our Pets
Our pets are truly a part of our family. We take every opportunity to include them in our day-to-day lives. If traveling to see friends and family, they are always brought along for the ride! They enjoy socializing and getting to visit with everyone. When possible, we take them out to eat with us as well - many restaurants near us allow dogs on their patios! That can be difficult for some of our pets; imagine us out to lunch with a pet chicken or gecko... But, we are sure to spend plenty of time with them and make sure they feel special, too!
Our pets are even included in our holiday traditions! We provide stockings and gifts for all of our pets. During Halloween, we decorate their living spaces and even provide costumes and other fun and festive props. Our pets bring us joy in so many ways. They are always happy to see us and they love unconditionally. Taking care of them isn't a chore for us; it is more like a privilege and we are thankful for having them in our lives. Our bunny, chickens, dogs, cats, gecko, snake and even the fish... we love them all unconditionally and wouldn't have it any other way!
Adoption in Our Family
From a young age, Nick and his family experienced the profound beauty of adoption. His aunt on his mother's side adopted two children through an international agency. Nick vividly recalls waiting at the airport with a big "welcome home" banner. He got to hold his new cousins right there in the terminal, and in that moment, he instantly loved and accepted them. It was a beautiful and life-changing experience to see his family grow in this way.
Although Nick was young when his cousins were adopted, he cherished the opportunity to play and interact with them. He fondly remembers holidays at their house, having Nerf wars in the backyard, and opening Christmas presents together. The joy of playing with his new cousins and seeing their smiles is etched in his memory. Nick has watched them grow into young adults with bright futures, and their presence has been transformative for everyone involved.

Our House and Neighborhood
We are very lucky to live in a neighborhood in Central Florida that is very diverse and open-minded. Just on our street, we have blended families, multi-cultural families, young families, old families... it truly is a beautiful thing! We live near a city that decorates for Christmas year-round and has regular festivities throughout the year. Our local park is about 3 minutes away by car and a 10 minute walk. It offers a massive playground, multiple ball fields, skate park, fishing pond, splash pad and rec center.
Our home isn't anything majorly fancy, but it is home and we LOVE it! We live in a 3 bed, 2 bath home in a rural area. Our porch and front yard have become our outdoor haven. We have a typical living room setup on our porch that we enjoy with nice weather. If its super-hot or rainy, we shift inside to our huge living room where we snuggle with the dogs and play indoor games.
Our neighbors on both sides and across the street are very friendly and we often spend time drifting into each other's yards for activities and conversation. It makes for a very unique and family-friendly atmosphere that feels like something from many years ago! Whether we are exchanging eggs for fruits/vegetables, or sharing a cup of sugar amongst one-another, it really makes our home feel special and inviting.
Our Extended Families
We love spending time with Nick's family! Board games are always an option on a rainy day, but we prefer to spend time outdoors. Even if it's a simple BBQ while watching a football game in the back yard. Nick's parents live nearby, so we spend time at their house pretty regularly. Their home is the hub of the family. Nick's siblings also live within 15 minutes of us, making it easy to spend time together on weekends and evenings. At Christmas time, it is tradition to exchange a new set of pajamas. We enjoy getting together on Christmas Eve and exchanging them then to wake up in on Christmas Day! Nick's family is very excited about the thought of adoption. They are all ready to step in to help and welcome this baby into our family with open arms.
Jake's brother, Isaac lives a little farther away, but stops by frequently. We all love animals, including Isaac - so we frequently spend time taking care of the animals together. We also enjoy spending time doing outdoor activities such as fishing and yard work. Isaac and his wife are elated at the idea of us adopting. Isaac's wife works with kids for a living and would love to be a part of this child's life.
From Us to You
Thank you for taking the time to consider us as potential parents for your child. We are Nick and Jake, and we are deeply honored and humbled by your courage and the love you are showing through this decision. We are married and have been since 2022, after dating for about 2 years. We want to share with you who we are, the values that guide us, and the life we hope to provide for your child.
Our relationship is built on a strong foundation of love, respect, and mutual support. We met during the pandemic-related shutdown and supported each other in many ways during that tough time. We spent all of our free time together and grew a strong bond in a short amount of time. That bond has only grown stronger with time. We have a lot of love to share and are ready for our lives to revolve around caring for and growing a child into a strong, well-rounded person. We smile at the idea of showing them the interests and traits we cherish that hopefully they will love as well, but also seeing what they end up finding out about themselves.
Our home is filled with love, laughter, and a sense of adventure. We enjoy spending time outdoors, whether it's gardening, visiting one of the many nearby beaches, or taking a relaxing evening walk. We also love hosting family gatherings and creating memories with our extended family and friends. Our child will grow up in a warm, nurturing environment surrounded by people who love and support them. We both have very involved families that will be there to support us and your child every step of the way. They will never go a single second not feeling completely loved and supported.
As potential parents, we promise to provide a safe and loving home where your child can thrive. We will support them in pursuing their dreams and encourage them to be the best, most authentic versions of themselves. We will teach them the importance of kindness, empathy, and respect for others. It will also be a very fun upbringing with never a dull moment, as we have many pets that require lots of love and care. Having pets is a great way to learn respect for other living things and take responsibility of something other than yourself. Finally, we believe in open communication and will always be there to listen and offer guidance as they navigate life's challenges.
We understand the gravity of the decision you are making, and we are deeply grateful for your consideration. We hope to provide you with a sense of peace and reassurance that your child will be loved unconditionally and supported in every aspect of their life. We are committed to maintaining a connection with you, if that is your wish, and ensuring that your child know their story and the love that brought them into our family. We will work with you to share pictures and stories of their upbringing in whichever medium is best for you. We also want the relationship between you and your child to be as open as possible, which could mean annual visits, if that is something you want as well.
Thank you for considering us as potential parents. We are ready to embark on this journey with open hearts and a deep commitment to providing a loving and warm home for your child.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Nick & Jake
