Devon & Anh
We are grateful for the blessing and opportunity to be a part of your adoption journey! We hope our profile has given you a glimpse of the love, fun, and stability that we are able to provide. Your child will have endless love and support from ourselves as well as our family and friends. Thank you for considering us and we look forward to learning more about you!
What Makes Us Unique
We are both deeply committed to working with school-aged children who have special needs. Devon has a decade of experience in the special education field and works at the local elementary school just a three minute drive from our home. In 2018, Anh returned to school to pursue Occupational Therapy and graduated as the valedictorian of her class in 2020. Since then, she has been a valued member of the local school district.
Anh is a fun and engaging therapist who knows how to use play to help kids learn and grow. She's creative and enthusiastic, and she's really good at connecting with children of all ages.
Through our combined experiences, we've developed numerous skills that will undoubtedly benefit us as parents. Patience is probably the most valuable skill we've acquired. We've also learned to celebrate the small victories in life and maintain a positive outlook. Additionally, our work has taught us the importance of empathy, communication, and adaptability. We believe these qualities will be essential in creating a loving and supportive environment for your child.
Our Family Traditions
We love celebrating holidays, especially Christmas! Anh didn't grow up celebrating Christmas in the traditional way, so she was thrilled when we got our first tree. Every year, we head to the local Christmas tree lot to pick out our favorite Douglas fir. Once we get it home, it's time to decorate with our collection of Christmas ornaments. Devon's mom always gave him ornaments that captured special moments from each year, and we plan to continue that tradition with our own child. We also love driving around the neighborhood to check out all the Christmas lights and decorations while listening to our favorite Christmas music. Anh's a big fan of the N'Sync Christmas album, while Devon prefers the classics, especially Queen's "Thank God it's Christmas."
Lunar New Year is also celebrated as part of Anh's Vietnamese heritage. We have family gatherings with lots of cooking and delicious food. The house is cleaned the day before Lunar New Year because there's a belief that cleaning on the actual day will sweep away good luck and fortune. We also give red envelopes with money to our nieces and nephews as a traditional New Year's gift (just five or ten bucks!)
Why We Chose Adoption
We believe that families come in all shapes and sizes, regardless of whether they're related by blood or bound by love. Anh has a health condition that significantly reduces the likelihood of a successful pregnancy and increases the associated risks. She maintains a very healthy and active lifestyle. We just didn't want to take any unnecessary chances that could jeopardize her health.
We decided that adoption was the right choice for us because we don't view it as a compromise. Instead, we see it as a beautiful way to create a loving family and provide a child with a forever home. We have always wanted to be parents and have so much love and affection to share. While other options like surrogacy were available, we felt that journey was filled with more uncertainty. Adoption offers us hope and allows us to imagine being parents one day.

Our House and Neighborhood
Our home in Los Angeles, California is in a community that embraces a multitude of cultures and diverse backgrounds. The neighborhood is family and pet-friendly, with an elementary school and pet store right across the street. We are less than 2 miles away from 3 local parks that have baseball fields for little league, tennis and basketball courts, swimming pools, and a dog park. We are also walking distance to many restaurants of different cuisines (Oaxacan, American, Mediterranean, Japanese, Thai).
Every Sunday morning, there is a Farmers Market 2 blocks away from us that has the freshest and most delicious produce from local farms. The community also hosts art fairs and holiday carnivals. We can take a walk and fill our day around our neighborhood with the shops and restaurants nearby. We live 10-minutes away from the coastal beaches of California, where we can bike the trails, ride the Ferris wheel and go for a swim. We love that we can have spontaneous adventures because there are always activities to do. We enjoy going to museums, the zoo, aquariums, hiking trails, baseball games, concerts, outdoor movies, and other offerings found within the city. The warm weather is wonderful but if we are seeking to build a snowman, the drive is only about an hour away. Whatever your child desires to do will be easily accessible to them.
We love the diverse cultures and beliefs that LA offers. We appreciate learning and celebrating other traditions as well as our own.
Our Extended Families
We are fortunate to be surrounded by our loving families. Both Anh and Devon's families reside in Southern California. We frequently gather for delicious home-cooked meals, holidays, and game nights. Both of our families are eagerly anticipating the arrival of a child into our lives.
Anh's mom often visits our home for three or four days at a time. She spoils us with her delectable Vietnamese cuisine, including pho, egg rolls, and Vietnamese beef stew. Anh's sister's family lives just a ten-minute drive away. We enjoy relaxed weekends with their toddler and child, exploring local parks and visiting museums. Any event, from three-day weekends to celebrating a piano recital or work accomplishment, is an opportunity for us to gather, enjoy food, and spend quality time together.
Devon's brother's family lives about fifteen minutes away. We love visiting their home or hosting dinners at our place, where we play board games and watch movies. Thanks to family members in the movie industry, we sometimes enjoy sneak previews of unreleased films! Devon's dad lives right down the street from his brother. We frequently visit him with the family, indulging in a sweet treat like chocolate cake and enjoying a leisurely stroll. Devon's aunt lives just five minutes away. She hosts Thanksgiving, where she prepares an incredible baked apple pie using apples she picks from her own yard.
From Us to You
Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents for your child. We are honored that you have taken the time to learn more about us. We're so excited to have the opportunity to connect with you and learn about your hopes and dreams for yourself and your child. Your child will be provided with a loving, stable, and nurturing home filled with joy and endless possibilities. Our journey to parenthood has led us here, to this moment of hope. We feel fully prepared and ready to embrace the joys and challenges that parenthood brings.
We built a foundation of love and support for each other 13 years ago and have been happily married for 8 years. We met while we were both working at a local Italian restaurant in 2011. We became best friends and that friendship built a strong foundation for our marriage. We are fortunate for the opportunities that have shaped us as individuals and as a couple. Early on in our relationship we discussed our openness about raising a child that is not biologically ours. When we began embarking on our journey to have a child, we learned that pregnancy would be very risky for the health of both Anh and the baby. After lots of careful consideration we decided that adoption was the right choice for us.
Our marriage continues to grow in love, joy, and respect as we face new aspirations together. The both of us feel that family is the greatest source of happiness and dream of becoming parents. We are so excited to welcome a child into our home and share our traditions.
We live in Southern California just a few miles from the beach. Our community is very culturally diverse and there are laid back beachy vibes all around. We have lots of great parks nearby where we can relax with a picnic and walk our dog. We are tucked away in a cute neighborhood that has many families with children and pets. We have two furry friends of our own. Our sweet dog and cat, Dougie and Pablo. We love them like crazy and they are definitely spoiled.
We are surrounded by both of our families that always support and celebrate all of the small and big moments in life with us. Being able to take care of our nieces and nephew as they have grown has been such a joy. By observing them, we have imagined how we would educate and nurture a child of our own with the skills they need. We are committed to providing consistent love and will advocate for their well-being throughout their lives.
You will always be the baby's first mom and we honor that. We can't fully comprehend the challenges you're facing, but we're committed to supporting you in whatever decision you make. Should you choose us as your adoptive family, you will always be a part of our home and family.
We will speak about you (and birth dad) with love and admiration. We hope to have you present in our lives, as much as you are comfortable with. We will send letters, photos, and videos as your child grows. We are open to phone and video chats, and planning visits - if and when you are ready. Your child will know how cherished and loved they are by their birth parents; as you will be cherished and loved by us. We will respect the communication you choose and understand that there may be more or less with time.
We hope our profile has provided a snapshot of our everyday moments and the warmth that fills our lives. Thank you again for considering us as potential adoptive parents for your child. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have and would love to learn more about your hopes and dreams as well.
