Jon & Shea
Thank you so much for taking the time to view our profile and considering us as potential parents for your child! Living in a vibrant, family-friendly community in Central Texas, we are surrounded by loved ones and filled with joy and laughter. We are incredibly eager about the possibility of welcoming a child into our lives and creating cherished memories together. Your consideration means the world to us!
What It Means to Become Parents

From the moment we decided to become parents, our hearts have been filled with dreams of welcoming a child into our lives. We envision creating a nurturing environment where a child can thrive, enveloped in love and support.
As we embark on this wonderful journey of parenthood, we are filled with excitement for the experiences that lie ahead. We eagerly anticipate witnessing every milestone, from the joyful first steps to the challenges of adolescence. Our commitment to guiding and supporting a child through life's ups and downs is unwavering, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and loved unconditionally.
We look forward to introducing our future child to the passions that brighten our lives, such as swimming, tending to our vibrant garden, and exploring the wonders of nature during family hikes. We can already imagine playful afternoons filled with sports, family, friends, and games surrounded by laughter and joy.
Our love will be the foundation upon which we build a lifetime of shared experiences, traditions, and cherished memories. Together, we aspire to create a home that radiates warmth, acceptance, and joy, a place where our family can thrive and grow together.
Our Pup, Findley

Our dog holds a special place in our lives for many reasons, and his presence enriches our family dynamic tremendously. We have always grown up with pets, making it difficult to imagine our lives without a dog as part of our family. Findley is not just a pet; he is a cherished companion who shares in our adventures and brings us joy.
We take great pleasure in activities that allow us to enjoy nature and stay active together. Findley loves to accompany us on hikes, swim in the water, and join in on our disc golf outings, making every experience more enjoyable. Playing fetch is one of our favorite pastimes, and Findley eagerly participates, showing a contagious enthusiasm that keeps us engaged and active.
In addition to his playful spirit, Findley is well-behaved and gets along exceptionally well with other dogs. His gentle and kind demeanor is especially notable around children, as he has a natural affinity for them. We appreciate how he interacts with all people, demonstrating patience and affection regardless of age or ability. He has even been able to go to clinics to provide therapeutic support.
Cultural Diversity
Addressing cultural diversity is a key priority for us as we prepare to welcome a child into our family. We are committed to ensuring that our future child not only understands and is immersed in their birth culture but also develops an appreciation for all cultures. We believe that fostering this awareness is essential for their growth and understanding of the world around them.
In her professional life, Shea is actively involved in learning about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). She strives to help others recognize cultural biases and appreciate cultural differences. This experience enriches our discussions as a couple, allowing us to explore topics related to cultural diversity and how we can apply what we learn to our family life.
We enjoy engaging in conversations about the DEI topics Shea encounters at work, discussing practical ways to support our own cultural awareness while also ensuring our future child feels proud of their heritage. We recognize that celebrating cultural diversity involves not just awareness, but intentional actions that honor different backgrounds and traditions.
Through books, community events, and fostering relationships with individuals from various cultures, we plan to create an environment that supports our child's cultural identity and encourages them to embrace diversity in all its forms. Our goal is to raise a compassionate and culturally aware child who values and respects the richness of our diverse world.

Our House and Neighborhood

Nestled in Central Texas, our home is situated within a vibrant gated community that offers a perfect blend of modern living and outdoor fun. Our neighborhood boasts an impressive array of amenities catering to all ages, from swimming pools and playgrounds to hiking trails and dog parks. There's never a shortage of activities, and for those seeking a thrill, we have a zipline and a disc golf course, alongside designated gathering areas for residents to come together and enjoy the outdoors. The community is bustling with families and children, creating an active and friendly atmosphere where neighbors frequently gather to enjoy the various amenities.
Our beautiful 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home, a new construction built by Jon's employer, features a spacious open floorplan. We love spending time in our living room, playing games and making lasting memories. With a backup generator ensuring we're equipped for unexpected power needs, we feel prepared for any situation. Our house is located on a quiet cul-de-sac with virtually no traffic, allowing for peaceful living while providing direct access to hiking trails and a fishing pond, perfect for spontaneous nature walks.
The charming town we reside in features a bustling downtown square, hosting various events throughout the year, including car shows, farmers markets, live concerts, and larger festivals. This lively square is lined with local restaurants and shops, making it a delightful spot to spend weekends. Additionally, we enjoy tending to our yard, engaging in gardening to enhance our outdoor space. With food trucks visiting monthly, there are always fun reasons to connect with neighbors and enjoy community life.
Our Extended Families

We are incredibly fortunate to have a close-knit family that brings joy and support to our lives. Our nieces, both sets of our parents, one of Shea's sisters, and Jon's brother all live nearby, creating a vibrant family community. Moreover, all four of Shea's grandparents are actively involved in our lives, providing even more love and guidance. Everyone is genuinely excited for us as we embark on the journey of adopting a child, eagerly anticipating the opportunity to shower a new family member with their affection.

Our families often come together, blending our two sides for big celebrations that are full of laughter and connection. We value these gatherings, where we enjoy playing games as an extended family. Whether it's cards, mahjong, dominos, or various board games, we make it a point to get together at least once a month for fun and camaraderie.
Having families so close by provides us with unwavering support, humor, and unconditional love, making our family unique. We look forward to continuing these traditions and celebrating new ones with our future child, ensuring they feel the warmth and connection of a loving family.
From Us to You

We hope this letter finds you well and in good spirits. As we sit down to write to you, we are filled with gratitude and anticipation. Thank you for considering adoption and for the incredible gift you are thinking of giving to our family. The mere thought of becoming parents fills our hearts with warmth, and we want to share a little about our journey and our hopes for our future child.
From our very first conversations, we have dreamt of being parents. It's a dream that has always felt like a part of us. We've been together for eight wonderful years, building a life filled with fun, laughter, and deep love for each other. We initially embarked on the journey of starting a family through IVF. After two challenging years, we realized that it wasn't the path meant for us. After many heartfelt discussions, we reflected on our original plan to adopt something that has always resonated deeply with us. It dawned on us that this was the time to embrace our dream of welcoming a child into our lives.
Family is truly at the heart of who we are. We live near our nieces, brother, sister, and both of our parents, and we cherish the memories we create together. Our weekends are filled with laughter and joy, whether we're playing games, splashing around in the pool, or sharing delicious dinners. These beloved rituals remind us of the importance of family, and our hearts are filled with excitement at the thought of sharing these moments with our future child.
We also have a treasure trove of friends from many different backgrounds who bring so much joy to our lives. We've made it a tradition to gather for cookouts and board game nights, and our home is always bursting with laughter and good vibes. To us, these connections form a beautiful tapestry of love and support that we can't wait to share with our future child.
Another passion that unites us is sports! Whether it's playing flag football, baseball, basketball, or cheering on our favorite college and professional teams, sports have a special place in our lives. The thrill of attending a game, the excitement of shared victories, and even the lessons learned from defeat are experiences we look forward to sharing with our child. We imagine weekends filled with family fun, attending games together, and maybe even teaching our child to kick a ball or catch a frisbee.
In our hearts, we believe it's vital for our future child to learn the value of family and compassion. We want to create a nurturing environment where they feel loved and supported, where they can grow and thrive. We are committed to ensuring they stay connected to their roots, embracing their culture and allowing them to feel proud of who they are.
We want our future child to always feel surrounded by love, not just from us, but from an extended family of supportive friends and relatives. We are open to email correspondence, and we would be honored to have future visits if that's something you'd consider. Building a relationship with you feels so important to us, and we want our child to know the courageous woman who made such a profound choice.
More than anything, we want to guide our child as they navigate the world, providing them with the tools to make informed decisions and encouraging them to chase their passions with all their heart. We hope to instill a love of life and an understanding of compassion for others, celebrating each unique trait that they will bring into our family.
As we conclude this letter, we want to express our heartfelt admiration for the incredible journey you are on. Your strength, love, and courage will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We are filled with hope as we look forward to the possibility of parenthood, and we are eager to nurture a family filled with love, understanding, and adventure.
Thank you for considering us as potential parents for your child. We are truly honored, and we carry immense respect for your decision.
With all our warmth and embracing hopes,
Jon & Shea
