Our Family Traditions

Perry's Favorite Holiday

Family traditions are at the heart of what makes our home so special. After Thanksgiving, we kick off the holiday season by going all out with Christmas decorations—our home transforms into a festive wonderland that puts us in the holiday spirit. We pop on the cheesiest Christmas songs and sing along as we decorate our tree with the ornaments we exchange each year. We also hang stockings for everyone - including our dog Perry!

One of our favorite traditions is making homemade gifts for a Secret Santa exchange with Alex's large extended family. It's always a joy to see the creativity and thoughtfulness that everyone puts into their gifts. Some of our favorite gifts are the birdhouses Alex’s cousins’ daughters have made for us.

Kyle and his brothers, Jack and Dylan, have taken Christmas photos every year wearing Santa hats sitting under the Christmas tree since Dylan was just two days old. It’s incredible to look back and see how everyone has grown and changed over the years.

Carving pumpkins is another beloved tradition that started when Kyle's brothers were little. Watching their creativity evolve over the years has been a joy, and we can’t wait to see another generation of jack-o’-lanterns.

We are so excited about the prospect of sharing these traditions with a child. We look forward to creating new memories and continuing these beloved traditions with your child, ensuring they grow up with a sense of love, warmth, and family togetherness.

Our Leisure Time

Board games have always been an important family activity for us both. Kyle has fond memories of Scrabble with his mom while Alex practically knew how to play Euchre before he could read or write! Most nights we’re playing some of our favorites, like Wingspan or Catan. We loved learning and playing various games with our families growing up, and can’t wait to pass that experience on to our child. We also caught the travel bug from an early age and have a passion for new experiences and cultures. We have good friends in Scotland who we love to visit and have enjoyed exploring some amazing cities like London, Berlin, or Tokyo. We also love taking cruises with family - enjoying just relaxing on the beach or getting to try a new experience like rock climbing. We look forward to being able to teach our child history and about various cultures through our travels. Staying active is another important part of our lives, a good workout at the gym is one of the best ways for us to de-stress. Every weekend we play racquetball and we try to get in a match of tennis whenever the weather is best. Both of us grew up playing youth soccer and will help and encourage our child to find a sport or activity they love to foster their socialization and development.

What Made Us Who We are

Hanging Out with the Family

Alex has always felt incredibly fortunate to have grown up with a strong foundation of love and support. The little actions showed how much he was cared for - whether it was his dad coaching his soccer team and being his cub scout leader or his mom teaching him to spell in the bath with foam blocks. This deep support inspired him to follow in his parents' footsteps: serving in the Navy like his dad and pursuing a career in education like his mom and sister, Briana. Learning patience, kindness, and responsibility from such wonderful role models helped him excel as a summer camp counselor, eventually leading him to oversee the program for the youngest campers. Growing up, Kyle’s family moved frequently due to his father’s work as a self-employed artist. While this offered amazing opportunities to see the country, it also meant not having the long-term stability of the same school or group of friends. However, this taught Kyle the importance of flexibility and not getting overwhelmed by change. Through all the moves, his family remained a strong, reliable unit. He could always count on his parents, knowing they were doing their best for him. This instilled in Kyle a deep appreciation for a loving and supportive family. Family has always been the most important thing to both of us. We want to inspire this same sense of family in our child. Our strengths complement each other, and we believe we will make even better parents together.

Our Extended Families

Alex's Family

Family is the cornerstone of our lives, and their love and support have shaped us into who we are today. We've always been close to them and cherish the guidance they've provided us growing up—a bond that remains just as strong now. Our 3-year-old nephew, Charlie, and 1-year-old niece, Amelia, bring us endless joy, and we are excited to welcome a child into our family to share in these loving relationships. We frequently enjoy family vacations together and see our families often. We joke that once a child enters our home, we'll have a hard time keeping our families away! Their eagerness and excitement only adds to the warm and loving environment we aim to create. Having such a strong support system with our parents and many other family members nearby has been a tremendous benefit whether to have someone watch our dog, Perry, or to help with our future child.

Our Loving Support System

Alex's large family gatherings are never dull, filled with dozens of aunts, uncles, cousins, and their young kids. Kyle's experience with his younger brothers, Jack and Dylan, has given him a deep appreciation for helping to raise them alongside his parents. We eagerly anticipate sharing our endless love and strong family ties with your child, just as our families have with us.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Loving Home

We have cherished living in our suburban neighborhood for the past nine years. Our quiet street in a diverse community is filled with young families, creating an environment where children can thrive. Just a short walk from our home, you'll find two playgrounds and swimming pools where kids can play safely. Our neighborhood regularly hosts fun family-friendly events like Fall Fest, weekly food trucks, and pictures with Santa. It’s wonderful to see the community come together, creating a sense of belonging and joy.

Our four-bedroom home is filled with warmth and love, with the kitchen being the heart of our gatherings. It’s where we come together with food and laughter, creating lasting memories. Alex enjoys renovating and upgrading our home, transforming it into our perfect forever home. His favorite project was definitely the nursery!

Nestled on a quiet cul-de-sac, our home provides a safe haven with a large fenced-in backyard that our dog, Perry, adores. This space is perfect for a child to explore and play. Living in our vibrant city in Florida is a true blessing. We joke that we’re just 15 minutes away from everything! We have passes to our wonderful local zoo and regularly visit the nearby beach. Our city also boasts fantastic science and children’s museums, making it an enriching place to raise a child. Outside of our city, we’re a short drive from the theme parks. We eagerly look forward to sharing the excitement and joy of these experiences with a child.

From Us to You

Hi there! We are Alex and Kyle and we wanted to first introduce ourselves and thank you for even taking the time to look through our profile. We truly understand the magnitude of the decision you're making and the emotions involved. We feel you. You are a real person, with genuine feelings and experiences and we will respect you and any decision that you make for yourself and your child.?

Please know that we're here for you. We would love to share more about ourselves and answer any questions you may have. We are available and open to any form of communication that makes you feel comfortable. We genuinely want to get to know you better and support you throughout this journey.

We have been together for the last eight years and married for the last three. Each moment we feel stronger and more in love than the last. In the early days of our relationship, one of the things we felt most connected over was our shared value of family. Naturally, when the topic of raising kids came up, we both were eager for the opportunity to do so together.

We are fortunate to have a strong and loving support system of close-knit family and friends. They have always been there to offer assistance and guidance and our parents are thrilled at the thoughts of welcoming a child into our family. Our three-year old nephew, Charlie, and one-year old niece, Amelia, would love to have a cousin so close in age to play and grow up together with. We can already imagine them having so much fun together, from building sandcastles at the beach, to decorating holiday cookies, to sharing countless giggles during playdates.

If you feel that we are the right choice to raise your child, we promise to offer them a lifetime of unconditional love, support, and memories .We'll be there for every milestone, offering encouragement and celebrating their achievements. In our home, we are excited to watch them learn and grow (hopefully not too quickly!). The thought of walking through our neighborhood with a stroller and our dog, Perry, and ending each day by tucking them in with a bedtime story and a kiss goodnight is something we genuinely look forward to.

We are committed to being active and involved parents that foster a love of learning, exploring new opportunities, and helping them find who they are. Every recital to every soccer practice will be something we cherish being a part of every day. When we are home, we are excited for weekly board game nights together where we discuss the best part of our days. Or cuddling up on the couch enjoying a movie with some popcorn. Our hearts are ready to be filled with the joy and love that only a child can bring.

Whatever role you choose to have in your child’s life, you would always know how your child is doing with regular letters and photos. Should you choose to, we would love phone calls, and when the timing is right, the opportunity for you to visit to spend time with each other. We believe that open and honest communication about their adoption story is essential, and we will ensure that they grow up understanding the selfless love that brought us all together.?

Thank you for considering us as potential adoptive parents. We are humbled by your courage and strength and would be honored to be a part of this journey with you.

Warm regards,

Alex & Kyle
