Parts of the adoption process can be spiritually trying for both adoptive families and birth parents. We sometimes have people ask us for Bible passages that relate to all kinds of adoption. Whether you’re religious or not, we hope that these passages (sent to us by members of the American Adoptions family) can help you find inspiration and comfort throughout the adoption process and beyond. Check back in next week for inspirational adoption quotes.

Thank you. As a parent going through the adoption process, these scriptures gave me great comfort.
The parallelism between spiritual adoption into God’s family and physical adoption into a family are beautiful. Romans 11:11-31, where the author, Paul, uses a farming metaphor about grafting people into the family was really meaningful for me in addition to this list.
As parents looking to adopt these are precious verses to us. Thank you for sharing the Word of God with us.
Thank you for the information, very helpful.!at the Lord bless as reach out to help other’s
Although God’s heart is close to adoption the church isn’t. that more Christians don’t follow and adopt. Jesus calls us to take care of the orphans.
