Every story is unique. Here at American Adoptions, one of our favorite things to do is share real experiences from those who have been touched by this life-changing journey. No matter who you are or what brought you to here, there’s something we can all learn from every member of our American Adoptions’ family.
To highlight the journey of each member of the adoption triad, we’re sharing a three-part series on important people to follow on social media — starting with birth parents. Women who choose adoption come from all walks of life, and there’s something we can all learn from each one of them.
If you’re a birth parent, then you may be looking for others who have been in your shoes and are open to talking about their experience with adoption. And if you’re an adoptive parent or an adoptee, then we’re sure you want to find ways to connect with the birth parent experience and understand the challenges they’re facing.
In any case, we’ve got you covered. Instagram is a great way to find a community of adoption triad members — birth parents, adoptive parents and adoptees.

- @fromanothamotha: Kelsey Vander Vliet Ranyard shares what it’s like to be a birth mom with her stories about life after adoption. She is also the founder of the Motha’s Day Project, an organization for embracing birth mothers and celebrating their motherhood on Birth Mother’s Day every year.
- @bigtoughgirl: Ashley Mitchell shares authentic and honest stories about being a birth mom. She is also the founder of the Lifetime Healing Foundation, an organization that supports women healing from adoption-related trauma.
- @twistedsisterhoodpodcast: This podcast is co-hosted by Kelsey and Ashley from the accounts above. Here, listen to honest conversations from real birth mothers about their experiences with adoption.
- @thegracebond: Leah Outten is a birth mom and a mother of five. She is also a co-founder of Woven Together, an educational resource for adoptive parents.
- @dominique.rachelle: Dominique Rachelle is both an adoptee and a birth mom. You can read stories from two sides of the triad on her Instagram.
